Robert Craig Hupp was born in 1876 in Grand Rapids Michigan. Hupp conected with Olds Motor Works in Detroit in 1897, and then in the Lansing plant. After leaving Olds, he worked at Ford Motor Company from 1905-1908, to learn more about automobile manufacturing. On October 8, 1908, Robert C. Hupp organized Hupp Motor Car Company as president of the company.

Hupp Completed building his first prototype car in October of 1908. The Hupp Motor Car Company was formed October 8, 1908.

The first Hupp leadership team was assembled for the foundation of the company October 8, 1908

Charles Douglas Hastings was born August 25, 1858, in Hillsdale Michigan. Hastings joined Olds Motor Works in 1902, then on October 8, 1908, he joined Hupp as one of it's founders, and was appointed vice president of the compnay.

J. Walter Drake was born September 27, 1875, in Sturgis, Michigan. Drake practiced law in Detroit and joined Hupp on October 8, 1908, as general manager.
